Automated Lighting Products

Vari-Lite International is one of the entertainment industries pioneers of automated lighting and technologies. Vince Brown provided extensive product development support with the Series 300 Wash Luminaries, Series 2000 Luminaries, and Virtuoso Console.

While at Vari-Lite, Vince Brown received a US patent for his contribution in the development of the VL8 (VL5Arc) Wash Luminaries. The VL5Arc wash luminaries, combined with the Vari-Beam mechanism provide one of the industries most unique luminaries. The Vari-Beam beam diffusion technology uses a fluid-filled plastic membrane to provide automated beam manipulation.

Vince Brown was responsible for design and development of various prototype and production electro-mechanical assemblies, plastic and aluminum casting, sheet metal structures, stampings, enclosures, PCB assembly layouts and cable/wiring assemblies using Pro/e, Pro/Cable, Pro/e Advanced Surfacing, Pro/e Advanced Assembly, Pro/e Sheet metal Design , Intralink and AutoCAD. The product design contributions provided by Vince Brown have led to significant advances in automated lighting at Vari-Lite.
